Andrea Carrara About

Born in Southern Italy, I work as a filmmaker focused on narrative-driven images that connect memory, perception, and lived experience. My practice moves across music videos, short films, documentaries, commercial content, and experimental visual research.

I’m currently pursuing a Research PhD in Mediascape (XLI cycle) at the Academy of Fine Arts of Palermo, where my project Augmented Memory investigates how audiovisual languages and AI-based systems can engage memory processes in neurocognitive disorders. This research perspective informs and deepens my approach to filmmaking, especially in my work with archives, traces, autobiographical materials, and hybrid visual forms.

Alongside my academic work, I continue my professional activity as a director, screenwriter, and editor, collaborating with artists, brands, and production companies across Italy and abroad.
